So, where can I get that vinyl "carpet" to cover any material I would use to make the enclosures? The vinyl that resembles the color of the plastic in the trunk like this pic:

The above pic is from the trunk setup thread and setup belongs to SouthSyde
Also what's the best material to use for custom trunk enclosures like that? fiberglass, plexiglass, light plywood?
Thanks for any help!

For the carpet, go to your local audio store.
And for making the box, use 3/4 inch MDF board, it's what the shops use. If you want plexiglass, make a see thru window with it or something.
Best option is to let a shop do their thing.

maybe mcmaster.com. i think crutchfield has stuff but they're expensive. there's another really really good stereo install parts site but i don't have the link with me. search on yahoo because there's some good sites online.

I got the vinyl at a local car stereo shop, they should have lots of colors in order to best match the interior. It was $10 a yard.

did you do your setup yourself? if so, that's a damn nice job. If not, how much did it run you?
I went to mcmaster.com, damn they have a $hitload of stuff....even CF fabric?, but I don't know what this vinyl stuff is called, so I couldn't quite search for it, I just know what it is when I see it....
Thanks for the help tho, really appreciate it.

Yeh i did it all myself. I am going to be an installer at a shop that is opening up in Houston called MOdern Sounds. Took me about one week. I also have a set of Dynaudio 220mkII in the kicks. They are awesome. I have had rainbow pros, ads, cd-tech braxials and 3-ways, focal. I like the DYns the most. Cant wait till they break in. =) If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

FOr the enclosure i used fiberglass and 3/4 in MDF, as for the panels, i used 1/2 in MDF.

I assume you are really good with fiberglass, did you use the spare tire space as part of the enclosure? I would want to retain my spare tire so that's why I'm trying to figure out a set up that is functional also...

Fiberglass is not that hard to work with, and yes i used my sparetire well. I squeezed about 2.2 cubic feet.
how much would a job like that run anyways?

well being that the sides are done as well, i'd say 1200-2000. places vary huge in how much they charge. vinly runs more, and doing 2 amp racks on the sides runs more.
