The clutch LSD is for track use and the Helical LSD is for street cars. Just because the Clutch LSD is for the track does not mean that it necessaraly out performs the Helical or that the helical isn't an all out performance item. The clutch LSD is made for track use because the amount of lockup can be adjusted where the Helical has a fixed amount of lockup. These adjustments can be made by swapping in different clutch packs, which requires the removal of the transmition every time you want to adjust it. This is really good if you race your celica at a track but is impractical and pointless if you only drive your celica on the street. Plus, the clutch's in the LSD will wear out and need to be periodically replaced, wich will require the removal of the transmition every time.

The Helical has a fixed amount of lockup and will last forever. I have the helical in my celica and beleive me, it is set with a huge amount of lockup. It probably is at least as aggressive as the clutch type(unless you add more clutches to the clutch type), and it is definately a performance minded unit.

So to sum it up, if you race your car, get the clutch type for its adjustability. If you drive your car on the street and/or race it for fun, get the helical.;)
