There's a Very simple reason why the Numbers are so down......... There's a Huge cat on the Exhaust Header.

that may be, but nissan should rate the engine properly....putting new headers and cat on will not be something that everyone is going to want to do. i don't know why nissan couldn't at least gotten 180 hp (real, not like this imaginary 175) from 2.5L

Well isn't the SI pushing those numbers stock? I think Nissan just overrated the HP figures on the Spec V for marketing reasons.

Thanks for the link... that owner is excellent at explaining his graph, even though he didn't post it. Well, of course, Blk00ss won't give up on this! I think SCC really, themselves, wanted to see a better figure, and tried. I've been reading it since it came out. I'll stick w/ my coupe but I'd take that SE-R over a 3 series Beemer.

I for one have to agree with Ron.

Remove that close-coupled cat, open up the exhaust and intake and that car will easily make 190-200 bhp. A chip is reportatly in the works that will raise the 6100 rpm redline.

This car with some basic mods will fly, and handle like its on rails.

but that doesnt change the fact that its overrated for power right now..
