hey 2zz masters,

may I ask you, what will be better for the bucks vs. flow potential...

My final setup will be a non-stroked Rotrex setup at around ~14-17psi and 8300RPM... I made freaking 40k miles in one year, that's why I decided to build the engine before putting the charger on it.

Shall I go PPE header and buy the whole PPE exhaust system with high-flow cat and resonator...
pro: no custom fabs required, no additional costs
contra: only 2.5" diameter w/o tail pipe...

Or

Shall I go PPE header w/o PPE exhaust system and buy the Greddy TIC 3" diameter exhaust system
pro: 3" diameter, tail pipe incl.
contra: need additional high flow cat, custom fab from header to cat

I read in the net, there's a rotrexed VR6 with only 2.5" diameter exhaust system doing over 300hp easily... but heard in these forums, the PPE exhaust routing isn't the most efficient one...

thanks

go with the ppe mid pipe. no cat is best, but for emissions youll want a high flow one. greddy tic, as far as i know, is only made in 2.25 inch setup (same as magnaflow). i would build a custom axle back, using 2.5 inch mandrel bent piping. theres no point in keeping your stock mid pipe if your going to build the block and go with a rotex. your spending cash on performance, dont kill it with the stock mid pipe

I would figure the size of the collector outlet on the PPE header, and then bolt up a straight pipe all the way back the same size as the outlet, manderal bending where ever you need to with muffler at the end. No cat, no resonator, no restrictions.
