Does anybody know anything about the SSR GT1's(quality, reasonable price, etc....) and/or Pirelli P7000 Supersports? I was quoted $1990 for 4 - 17" GT1's with 235/40/17's. The guy told me that I would have to get the 235's because the rim is only available in a 7.5" width. Will 235's fit the celica? Does that quote seem reasonable?

SSR's are supposed to be good, so are the p7000 tires. Any width tire between 215 and 245mm should fit on a 7.5" rim.

that price is a bit high because of the 235s he mistakenly quoted you.---you want 215/40s. GT1s are excellent quality, but go with the Summer version of the P7000, not the SuperSports.

Summer version, huh? I would but up here in WA state, I'm a little concerned about those few winter days when we get hit with snow. I was planning on selling the stock 16's.
