Well about 6000 miles ago i got my wifes tranny flushed at fred haas toyota(the celica) in texas. (you can see where this is going).

Well today i was following her home from work, and as soon as we got on the ramp to go from 610-59 north her car started blowing blue smoke. I quickly caught up to her to tell her to pull over her car was smoking. She didnt notice anything wrong.

SO we pull over and i jack up her car after all the fluid has fell out, and remove her drivers side tire to take a look. All i could tell was that the something was wrong with the tranny(i could see the bottom of it drenched in oil).

We called the dealer(tejas much much better) and they sent a wrecker. Once the car got to the dealer after about waiting 30 minutes they put it up onthe jack and discover that the oil drain plug is MISSING. NOw how the hell does that happen unless someone forgot to tighten it.

So now we have to wait for the shop foremen tomorrow to say if we are getting a new tranny or if the tranny is ok.

So now the celica is in the shop AGAIN, damn thing has been in the shop for 48 days so far and climbing. The whole thing will be covered under warrenty, which is good and it should be.

So all in all this night has sucked. Well at least on the bright side my wifes celica will have a new tranny.

IM so glad i was following her because if i wasnt her tranny wouldve ceazed on 59 and that wouldve been disasteris(sp?)

p.s. we are contacting TOA and are going to try to get a new clutch and a rental car for all the days its in the shop.

Actually its shouldn't be warranty - Fred Haas should pay for it. Its not Toyotas fault their Technicians suck. Cool that Tejas is gonna cover it for you though. Man - you guys could sure use some GOOD luck with your car :)

Yeah i know i asked the service guy at TEjas and he said fred haas wont have to pay anything that toyota would. I think thats wrong since its not toyotas fault.

They should at LEAST reprimand them though. I mean, good god. That **** could happen to someone else due to a lazy/crappy Technician.

How do you figure you were able to drive 6000 miles w/o the plug and no problems? Doesnt' sound like it was forgot, Maybe in wrong, but if it wasn't there at all you would have lost all the fluid very quickly, not 6000 miles later.

If you read my post you would see that it wasnt put in correctly and it finally fell out yesterday.

The shop foreman at Tejas says that they dont want to fix it since another dealer did it. They want us to take it to Fred Haas, we told them that would be a cold day in hell. So know we are waiting till monday to call the service manager at Tejas(he knows all the problems we had at fred haas) and get him to fix it.

ID take it to another dealer right after you get it out to get checked

Sorry I misread your post. Anyway, Drain plugs can blow out even if they are tightened correctly, Rare occurance, but I have had it happen before, Just blows all the threads out with the plug. Not saying yours was in wrong. I am sure Toyota will take care of this properly in one way or another.

Mind you that car was 10 years old.
