I have a 2002 toyota celica gt and it has around 105,000 miles on it. I love it and its been great for me but i think its time to sell it and move on. Anyone have any suggestions on the scion tc? i was thinking about getting one and trading my celica in on one. how are they? any suggestion are welcome. thanks

research more...
for the price of the rx8 u could buy a use 350z
also i top of that, rx8 are costly to maintian. tc are very similar to the celica and easy to take care of... also the insurane rate are very different on both cars.
rx8 may be nice to have; but costly if you trying to play with it.
just giving you the head up. i'd rather get a different car, than a rotory engine.

idk about you, but i'd rather have a car not many people have, than drive a tc...it just seems like everyone has em. not to mention an RX8 owns!!!

Rx8 is not that nice. Rotary and high insurance. I've raced a couple before.
If your serious why not upgrade to 350Z. Personally you won't get much for the GT, I would keep it.
And this is in the wrong part of the forum.

this is true. i didn't even think about the costly part. i was assuming you had the loot but if you don't, don't slit your own throat.

Wrong, I have an 04 and have had only 1 issue, and that was a gas cap gasket. Stop spreading lies.
Rotary and high insurance
If your 17 and have 5 speeding tickets. Hell I have 1 speeding ticket and under 25, my insurance is barely above what the Celicas was.
Considering you are in PA where the weather can get harsh, get something AWD.

i think i still might go with the tc. Its cheap. easliy modded. cheaper insurance. i think i could invest some money and make one look pretty nice.

not spreading lies, not many owner could maintian their cars (driving hard, dont change oil on time, etc). so it would be more costly to fix and repair if needed.
i never said the rx8 are NOT reliable.
plus i rank the rx8 in a different class of car.... SO i am Guessing the insurance for those bad boy are going to be more than the celica.

It seems like you already have your mind set and just need some assurance. I think the TC would be a decent choice. It's not a big upgrade as far as performance, but they look pretty good, decent on gas, and not too expensive.

with a 2.4 litter, yeah, you'll get a bit more out of it rather than our old celica.
Mod it up ain't too bad. It's roomy enough for you and your friends. I kinda hate how narrow our celica is compared to the 2000+ Civic, yeah, civics have more room, I've checked the numbers =/... But put that aside, try comparing with a few more options you have around too to see what else could make the list.
On top of my head, I think you should consider Rsx S, Eclipse, 350z, G35 and I think the new tiburon is nice too.
just my own opinions =d

That could very well be true for any car. Thats why you want to research the car you are about to buy and ask for service history. And if anything did go wrong and you are out of warranty, the last place you would go to is the dealership. Find a Rotary Specialty shop. 99.9% of the time their prices are significantly lower than a dealership & have better quality and knowledge.
To the OP: I think if you seriously compare the tC to the Celica you will be dissatisfied. The tC is inferior in all categories compared to a Celica. The shifter is like its connected through rubber bands, the engine is like a fat kid with asthma, and it handles like a lowered Rav4. But hey, its your money.

I was looking at Tc, but went with Celica. Test drive Tc, and see for yourself, but I did not liked it. If upgrade, go for 350Z or something...

My girl has a tC. It's an ok car torquey engine but it's kind of a vanilla boring car. The interior is just as plasticy as the celicas if not worse. I'm not a huge fan. It's good basic transportation though

id say upgrade to umm... a gt-s 6 speed =] or an s2000 both very reliable, ive driven the tc and going from my gt-s to that they felt of a lower quality and kinda "cheesy" but thats just me

I have a Scion tC and when I test drove it I fell in love with it. Truthfully unless you are going to spray or go turbo it is not going to be fast. Spray and mods make it go high 13's. What exactly are you looking for in a new vehicle?
