Hey all i got a problem i just bought rims and tires and i was going down the freeway when i hit about 100 mph the car made alot of noise and shook alot, it never use to do that. I paid 420 dollars for these new tires what the hell is wrong, they are Kumho ECSATS 712s....225/45/17

are you sure that the rims are on tight!! No loose lugs

Hmm... Noise and vibrations you say... I would have them rebalanced just to be on the safe side... Them might have accidentally knocked of some of those lead balance things off when they put on your new tires... Hope that helps... Good luck...

Sounds like balancing problems. Did you get an alignment done when they were installed. That is supposedly required when you get new tires.

i told u to go with the SUmitomos! haha no im playin.. dood, i have the same problem with my rims.. when i hit 70ish steering wheel starts vibrating.. i have had these wheels RE balanced 3 times now.. the excuse is that the TAPE weights which is wht they use on after market wheels dont work too good so the balancing always sucks.. i dont know what to do anymore.. in your case... errm i guess have them rebalanced..

They use tape weights on the stock GTS rims and no real problems here. Are they taking off all of the old weights before rebalancing? That is kinda important for getting it right.

I read on Tirerack's web site that some people had problems balancing the Kuhmos due to poor QC. It is unlikely, but the problem could be the tire.
