any suspension mods and/or front strut bar? check strut mount, ball joint and your lower control arm, make sure the nuts are tight on the sway bar link since you've replaced them. I hade a clunk, my APR front strut brace was causing it.

i have the same problem. i checked everything but still cant find it either. at first i was like shoot my wheel better not fall of, but ive been driving around with the knocking sound for like 6 months now. at one point i thought it was that little stick that hold the hood up (because i took off the plastic and its just wobbling). then i was like its just the passenger side headlight (because the top tab is broken and it makes a knocking noise when you press it in). Now im telling myself that my shock is dead (because im on skunk 2 springs with stock shocks). o well as long as my wheel dont fall off.

have been under car now 4 times checking everything and cant seem to find anything nuts all seem tight how would i check ball joint? had 40mm apex lowering springs in but thought ride was to rough so removed them felt very solid on rough roads and very bouncy is this same with all lowering springs of only 40mm or could my shocks be on way out they seem ok though!!Will get some pics of my celica up tomorrow just new to this site im I the only Irish man on this site?

sounds like the struts are gone. they will make a popping/clunking type noise

isnt that the strut/shock bottoming out when they wear out? that would def make some knocking noise

mine bobbled over uneven surfaces, i couldnt find the poblem, i tightened up the nut on the top strut mount and it fixed it, another member (celicarace) had this issue and that was the problem as well, give it a try, pop the hood and remove the rubber cover on the stru mount and the nut is exposed

I checked nut it seems tight enough and as for the actual strut itself it seems alright to as when i was removing lowering springs i checked shock by pushing down and released back up straight away and when i push down on passenger side i cant replicate sound at all will have another look at weekend but really losing hope on fixing it and I forgot to say its not a loud knock just low but hearable and very annoying!! thanks for all replies!http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/DSC002063.JPG

I jsut fixed this on my car. It was the end link. Put a load on the suspension and then get under then end link and push up on it.

im telling u it's the struts. when i lowered my car it did the same thing after about a month. i replaced the struts and the sound went away, the struts dont have to be leaking nor will they show visual signs of wear. the reason why is because of the valving inside the struts go bad which cause's the poping/clunking noise.
