I was on my way to pick up a friend of mine when this Firebird gunned it from a light (6 lane road, wasnt next to me) I tried to throw it back in first but It wouldn't go so I just said screw it. Catch the next light with this guy. He does a fat Power Brake right there heh. I rev to 4,500 rpms my normal launching range, light goes green. Spin, spin, and more spin. all the way to about 7 grand before I had to pump the gas and catch. By that time hes about 2 cars ahead. I finally get upto his door in second gear, then light ahead turns yellow.
This time. I figure I at least should get some traction at 3 grand. So I rev up to 3 grand, Light goes green he takes off. I literally am STANDING STILL just spinning worse then last race, pump the gas, land second in VVTL-i Pulling on him, shift third passing him, inching away. then I shut down cause I dont like to race past 75-80 even if it was relativily no traffic.
Get to the next light (Don't know how I managed to hit every red light with this guy) We are talking. Hes like "What do you got in that thing? V6?? I was like, nah, 4 banger. Hes like Holy **** that things fast!, "How bigs the engine?" 1.8 litre , yadda yadda. He was like damn. Felt pretty good to get props. He said he races at the illegals and at the track so I know he wasnt a poor driver or nothing.
Light turned green as we were talking, so we take off, both dont drop any rpms in to first, just take off mashing gas, Low end he takes me by half a car, I gain it back once I hit VVTL-i Chip second when his nose is at my door, Pull to about a car and half maybe more on him then I shut down. He said something out the window but I didnt catch it. I had just missed my turn, he wanted to do a 20 punch or something but I had to jet so that was that. gave him a few high beam props and went on my way. all in all, Cool race. Just kinda pissed that I didnt get any traction. the main reason why I didnt was becuase it was real moist out, foggy, and damp. So it was just being a bitch on my launches.
