well a rule of thumb is anything over 1.75 will be to much for adjustment of stock pieces.. but every car is slightly different

I'm considering these springs. I know a few people who went a little lower than 2in and havent had any problems.

Wrenchhead is right. 1.5 to 1.75" drop is the "safe zone" before you need camber kits.

Or I guess you could lower your car at your desired height and just get an alignment done...

I have problem w/my drop. I have TRD lowering springs for about 30,000 miles now. The car itself has 63,000. The problem I'm having is that I can't take a corner as hard as I could stock. My celica has lost it ability to do what it does best. When I enter a corner I feel like the car drops or dips down in the direction that I'm going into the corner and then I feel like I have no traction. I've got the car aligned by Firestone not too long along. And a day later it started to act up again. When I'm on the freeway and I pass over and deep line where the freeway it kinda put together I can feel my steering wheel move alot more than average. It's pissin' me off. The does butterfly in the rear just alittle. Can you adjust the stock suspention parts to compensate for this?

perhaps the shocks.

BTW, if i got the hotchkis springs (1 3/8" front and 1 7/8" rear), would the rear camber links be neccessary?

if i did need them, how would i go about using them? get a shop to do a normal alignment, and adjust the settings as needed? would they even know how?

If I had the change to lower my car again I would definatly go w/the TRD springs and shocks. Now that I think about it, my shock are going out. About the Hotchkis springs, I think you should just get the shocks and the springs because sooner or later you are going to need the whole set.

You don't need a camber links with the Hotchkis springs. They drop the Celica slightly lower than TRD's.

yes yes....your shocks are done....that's what happens when you change the shocks without putting new springs in...but you got an extra 30K out of the stock struts so that's cool.....there's a simple test you can do....go around the car, and push and hold the car down pretty far (each corner)....then release....if it jumps straight up and is solid then the shocks are good.....if it jumps up, and seems to bounce up and down, the shocks are no good.
