Excellent idea. Much better to call Blitz themselves than to rely too much on what is said here on the boards. Hehe...you'd probably get five different answers on here anyway. ;)

so, anyone call blitz usa today?

BRAK

OK so here is the low down on this
#1 they are still transitioning it from right to left hand drive
#2 They have to VERY slightly modify the tubing to fit with the US air conditioner unit
#3 Have to modify the japan cruise control function with the us cruise control ..... he said this was a must because there cannot be an opening in the circuit there for some reason (he went over my head)
#4 They have to get a slight mod to make it work with the US oil pan ... its in the way

#5 He said the unit is about $6000 includes ECU , intecooler ,S/C and all goodies , BUT with the modifing there doing there not even shure about that yet:angry: :thumbdown

After this conversation ... im not even shure it is worth the CASH .... the 75 shot of nitrous sounds ALLOT better

As for other companies making Turbo systems for our cars like EIP he said .... the 2ZZ engine MUST be intercooled or it will detonate!

I dont think we are in the only one in the boat here, as i forsee the RSX type S to have the same problems ahead ..... He agreed with the same and said it is getting harder and harder to FI these cars with high compression , and Very complex technology.
N/A i forsee is in many peeps future ... with a higher rev limit ... P&P , header .. intake ... exhaust .. downpipe .. cams .. and pistons, we would have a nice N/A killing machine.

Thanks for the info, BRAK. Looks like any forced induction for the 2zz is gonna cost 6k or more. Going n/a would definitely be a more cost-effective way of getting some power from the 2zz, but there are two big problems that need to be solved:

1. No one seems to be working on a good quality ECU (Power FC, AEM's EMS, etc.) for the 2zz.

2. No one seems to be working on cams for the 2zz, either. (The people at Crower aren't sure they want to make cams for the 2zz due to cost and complexity issues).

. No one seems to be working on a good quality ECU (Power FC, AEM's EMS, etc.) for the 2zz.

But also keep in mind no one has cracked the I-VTEC code either... remember that even APEX-I is boggled with that one. They said when i contacted thaem , and have heard online that they are doing both projects at the same time ... VVTL-I especially since the engine is now in the Matrix, Vibe, Corrola, Celica , Possibly even with possitive proof of statements ...even the new Supra in 2004 will have VVTL-I technology in the V6. We will see the ecu modification equipment soon since we now are still young with the engine and technology, it does look like this technology will be in just about all Toyota/Lexus/Pontiac (and whoever else is partnership with toyota) Perfomance veichles.
Let the engines start revving:D

6000 is worth it, when it includes a ECU. Supercharger is instant power and no lag.

AEM already has one of their stand-alone ECUs available for the RSX ( http://www.aempower.com/application/ems_app.htm ). Unfortunately, reps at ApexiUSA say that they aren't certain whether they want to adapt the Power FC for US-spec Celicas.

If you call Apexi USA (714)685-5700 and XS Engineering (714)-698-8300, you will hear otherwise.

but keep in mind, it says RSX, from my understanding the RSX is about as complicated as a Celica GT but the RSX-S is the one most similar to the GT-S

Good observation. However, if you notice, they don't put exact trim levels on many of their listings. For example, they don't have GSR, Type R, LS, etc. by their Integra listing. It's unclear which version of the RSX they have an ECU for. As far as the lower model RSX being as complicated as a Celica GT, no one has any good quality ECU upgrades for the US-spec GT, either.

that and Honda of America will send new cars to aftermarket tuners to get the jump when they release cars. Toyota only did that with Rod Millen and nothing from the Ultimate Celica will fit on our cars.

Good point. Toyota USA really needs some peeps in management that actually realize that doing simple, common sense things like releasing their cars to reputable tuners is GOOD for business.

Yeah, it sucks, but having 6K to dump is the only way to get some decent forced induction (from XS Engineering, Blitz, or EIP) on the GT-S.

Now see thats what im talikin about .. HOW THE (&*& did turbo magazine get that to work with our US spec celicas, I guess we have to see in there magazines. I mean maybe Tubo mag will enlighten us to how easy/pricey the install is. We will then see is they think it is worth it. The price might drop down to $4500 if they get many dealers to buy or stock this item and sell them at wholesle price , NOT JUST RETAIL..... the retail might be $6000 from blitz, but maybe from a dealer we can get it for $5000 or $4500..... whats your guys input , im I wrong with this assumption?

That's in the newest installment of that Celica SSII vs. Integra DC5 Type R series, right? I have that article, too (Wish I could read Japanese;) ). Unfortunately, none of Apexi's tuners/dealers in the US are willing to tune the Power FC for our Celicas here.
