Just checked my dealership's web site and they advertise Toyota synthetic motor oil. I emailed them to ask what other synth oil they have. After reading most of the posts on Amsoil and Mobil 1, I wonder what this Toyota synth is like? Has anybody used it and is it better/worse than the others?
Thanks.

Hmm...that's strange. My dealership always puts Castrol GTX in my car.

A little off topic, but anyone know if Valvoline synthetic is any good?

Thanks Freebird! I don't like the looks of that chart. I just put new mobile 1 in yesterday.

Got an email back from service at Toyota and they said their Toyota Synthetic Oil is made by Esso but that was all I got from them. So I still don't know how that oil stacks up against Mobil 1 or Amsoil or if they even have other oils to choose from (although I imagine they do).

Esso is Exxon so that means that you're pretty much using the mobil 1 oil

My brother's sponsored by Amsoil (for of all things bass fishing) and I'll be sharing in the hookup :) Whenever I get time, I'll see if I can hookup a deal in GP.

Hmm, so I take it that's not bad. Maybe not as good as Amsoil or that Redlyn stuff though. Thanks.

Amsoil (pasted from the Series 2000 oil) makes this claim:
Meets and/or Exceeds These Performance Specs:
API SL, SJ, SH, CF
Here's the question....If the Series 2000 oil (for example) and/or exceeds API specs, why aren't they API certified?
FYI, for spark ignition engines, only the XL7500 series carries the API certification.
