is it safe to use brake cleaner on brake pads?? any side effects or negativities to doing so? Cuz i realized after it rained the other day that it left an orange residue on my brake rotors, and its on the outer rim of the rotor after i drive, im guessin since the pads pick it up off the rest of the rotor, but i'm tryin to get rid of it all.

^^ pretty sure it is my rotors turn really orange after i wash my car and when i slowly back my car out the driveway, you can feel the brake pad grind against the rust spots on the rotor, so now i already bought brand new raybestos rotors and also looking for new pads just to accommodate the new rotors

oem rotors are made out of cast iron.. so they're going to rust. the shiny part is constantly being used so it remains rust free. park it for a week and it will rust. it will "rub" away once you start using it again.

The orange residue you see on the rotors is normal after your car has been sitting in the rain or exposed to water while it has been sitting, for example over night while you sleep.
