Here's proof. I'm going to be looking for a six speed tranny to replace my auto tranny first thing Monday. Wish me luck. I wonder how much a new tranny will cost?

Just click on the link, go to yahoo briefcase, then "My Photo Album," then "Dyno" and you'll see the pictures there.

it's more in league (power wise) with a whacked out old Civic Si

do you have the torque numbers by any chance? a couple of people have posted 120-130hp dynoes, but i dunno the torque numbers. i hope it makes 100.

and is your fuel cutoff at 8000?! :wtf: or is that 7800 but the curve gets all weird.

The 6-speed wasn't stock, was it?

yea thats what i was thinking..... at least I/E....... the 6 spd at the wheels has nearly the power at the crank of a normal 6 spd... dunno if this makes any sense.. lemme rephrase. there's loss when going to the wheels from the crank... but in this, it looks like the 6 spd lost only 10 hp..... either not stock or its a factory freak.....

my guess is that RDAR is stock, 6-spd had performance mods.. in which case.... not a fair comparison to say the least.

I've posted about my friend's car before. It's a freak. We did a engine transplant on it at the shop after he mis-shifted and blew his motor for the 2nd time. We got the motor from a wrecked auto celica GT-S. Believe it or not the car only has an AEM CAI. We didn't have a chance to dyno the car without the CAI because by the time we got the dyno operational, he had already put on the CAI. We may put the stock airbox back on so we can see stock horsepower to the wheels. We'll se what happens.

As for my car, it actually has more mods that his. I have an Injen CAI, and TRD exhaust. It was an unfair dyno but not because of mods, but because he was smart enough to get a six speed. I fell in love with the looks of the Celica first and was tempted to buy it cause I bought it used for $19,000 fully loaded except for ABS. Yeah I know I screwed up but hey we're gonna try to fix that.

Our other goal is to bring the Corolla GT-S back. We have plans to put my friends old 2ZZ, that he blew, into my car after we fix it and build it up. We plan to couple that with a six speed tranny. Then we are going to put my 2ZZ and tranny w/ sportshift into my girlfriend's Corolla hence creating a Corolla GT-S. What do you guys think?

you might want to build up your own 2ZZ. keeping in line with your findings, the engines mated to automatics are probably in better condition....although if you're gonna fix his anyway to put into the corolla, i guess you might as well. good luck, hope the block's in good condition, those aren't easy to fix :)

A 2ZZ-GE Corolla would be a sweet sleeper!

This is one of the reasons I've decided not to spend anymore money on this car besides basic maintenance. I might get a TRD brace but that's it for the car.

If I owned an auto GT-S/GT (heaven forbid:rolleyes:) I would invest my money on suspension mods as well!
