1/4 mile race: GT vs GTS

i can't even believe this but its true the GT can beat a GTS in a 1/4 mile race. I went to Dynamic Designs, in Canoga Park, CA and two buddies that work there one who has a GT and another who ha a GTS raced on a quarter mile track a couple of times and each time the GT would win.

well of course if the GTS was an automatic and the GT was a 5 speed....Automatics suck!!!!

if both cars were manual and you put the better driver in they swapped cars youd see the GTS wooping ass.. its amazing how bad a bad driver can be

people still havent figured out which car is inherently faster than teh other given equal drivers yet?

GTS is faster than a GT.

Yes it is much faster stock for stock. A modded GT would still have serious problems trying to keep up with a stock GTS with a GOOD driver. Like Larry said, bad drivers...man...... :(

I've raced two GTS' ...it would pull me about two cars but no more than that. Ahem- with my new mod that won't be happening anymore :D

Wait, so a good driver in a 5-speed GT would beat an AUTO GT-S?
I mean i saw the dyno results that RADR1732 posted on the 5-speed gt-s at 171 whp and the auto gt-s had only 130 whp. What is the whp for a 5-speed GT? Everything stock.

If the same driver drove both cars the GTS would win.

A 5spd GT dynoes at around 125hp, but because its a manual it will dust the auto GT-S off the line. It not until 70-75 that the GT-S will start to pull on it.
