Everyone knows that 2000 Celica GT front brakes are different than GT 01-05/GTS 00-05. The newer ones are a bit bigger.

So, I've read that the Scion tc TRD BBK will fit on the Celica. Does that mean Scion tc oem front brake calipers/rotors will fit also? can anyone confirm that the scion tc front calipers/rotors are the same as the 00-05 Celica GTS brake calipers? The 03+ Corollas and Matrix have the similar suspension, so would the rotor/caliper fit also?

Has anyone tried the scion tc rear disk brakes on the celica? The suspension links and hub carrier/axle carrier is different, but the brake assembly bearing/brakes looks the same (with the exception of that plug (abs?)). Can anyone also confirm if the rear scion tc assembly will bolt onto a celica? I'm talking about the part the bolts onto the hub carrier with 4 bolts.

If were talking about the rears, then I think youre talking about the backing plate. I cannot confirm nor deny at this time BUT call your toyota dealer and ask for a cross reference in part numbers.

Oh... and you would still need the hub carriers from the celica gts to fit any disc brakes/components on the car.

When using stock parts yes... Notice the longer "general" bolt. Elongating it puts it farther out from the center point. You can use any bolt to replace any toyota bolt... deosnt mean it will work better.

yes i know bolt grades are marked on the head and using a lower grade is very dangerous. i just wanted to know.. probably won't upgrade for a while though.

Its not just the bolt grade; I dont feel comfortable with augmenting the center point of my wheel from stock... its like using a spacer on stock wheels. Suspension Geometry is a PITA.

I know its an old thread but I was bored wandering around various part numbers. Compared 2005 Celica GTS part numbers to that of a 2005 Scion TC. The TC does share the same front brakes. The caliper & caliper mounting bracket have the same part number between GTS & TC. The rear disc however did not share any identical part numbers.

I think the rear use the same axle bearing hub. abs or not shouldn't matter. but because the axle hub bearing is the same, i think the tc backing plate/ebrake/caliper/rotor should bolt on. the only thing i'm not sure about is if the e brake cable is the correct length to hook onto the ebrakes and to function properly. the tc and gts rear rotor is the same though. one day if i can find a cheap entire rear hub brake assembly, i'll try out the fitment myself.

They do use the same rear hub # 42450-63011. Cables were like the cailpers & mounting brackets, different part numbers then Celica. Most likely if it does bolt on the existing gts cables would work. As far as a whole setup cheap enough you could always try these this Ebay seller http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION-TC-REAR-left-caliper-2005-2009_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem439c39dfc1QQitemZ2 90383847361QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAcc essories. They are doing the calipers for $40 each shipped. Might be able to persuade them to do the whole setup for $100-0150 shipped ;)

yes the hubs are different because of the suspension link and geometry, but attached to the hub is the same axle bearing hub. the backing plate attaches between the hub and bearing hub. i might try it one day whenever i'm able to get my hands on the parts. maybe if i see a tc in a junk yard i'll go mess around with it.

i was able to get the driver/pass tc rear hubs with everything attached for $120. damn good deal if everything fits. this included the hubs, hub bearing, e brake system, e brake cable, rotor, calipers with pads. at this point, i'm 95% sure the brakes will fit and not too sure about the ebrake system adjusting. we'll see. i wont use the tc hubs, tc ebrake cable, or hub bearing. if this doesn't work, i'll have a pair of hub bearings i can use in the future anyways, so it's a win situation.

i also think that GT rear drum brakes can be converted to bigger drum brakes from a 03-08 corolla. the corolla drum brakes are 2-3 inches bigger in diameter than the celica drum brakes. haha but who would want to do that.

defenitely a damn good deal. I took the easy route & only bought 06 TC front calipers since they are the same & were 70 shipped for the pair. For the rear disc I stuck with GTS swap since it was easier to get for me & known to work. Another nice thing about 06 front calipers, they are so new compared to say, upgrading to used 00 GTS calipers :)
