installed short shifter - need help

Ever since I installed my short shifter the stock shift boot rattles against it when I shift. Does anybody else have this problem. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Try putting masking tape around the shift lever where the chrome ring is. It was rattling after I put in my own shiort shifter.

What kind of short shifter did you install?

I made my own. Cut off about 1" from the top, moved the lever about 3/4" down through the pivot ball, and used stacked up aluminum washers (10 per corner) as bushings to keep the bottom of the lever from scraping the floor. It's shorter than most short shifters out there, and makes the shifter feel incredibly precise. I basically modeled it after the B&M shifter.

I cut my TWM a little bit and I know what you mean Blue its more precise and a whole lot stiffer which is cool :D... My only problem now is that the stock boot is all scrunched up:(...
