I'm new to the site so I figured I would make an introduction. My name is Matt, I just bought my 2000 Toyota Celica GTS a couple months ago. Right now I'm getting a list of parts/mods together for the car. I've read several forums and have put together a pretty decent list. Unfortunately I have shallow pockets so I will be buying a part or two at a time. My end goal it to reach 300whp or hit 10s on the 1/4 mile, which ever comes first. I'll post pics as soon as I finish a few exterior things on the car.
P.S I live in KY, and if anyone knows of a good performance shop in the area please let me know.

Getting a celica into the 10's and shallow pockets do not mix, that 80 grand for an AWD conversion might be out of your price range.

Welcome to the boards? Does your S/N refer to a MkIII?
As for your goals: 300whp will come sooner than a 10 sec 7th generation Celica.
My end goal it to hit 10s

If you read the last sentence first, it all makes sense.
Furthermore, if you plan on having a shop do all the work, you had better have a big fat wallet.
FINALLY - you'd be better off spending the money somewhere else.

Not another one who thinks the Celica is fast.

Okay 2 things:
1. When I said I had shallow pockets I meant I would be doing alittle bit at a time. I few parts here a few parts there, I'm not made of green.
2. I know the Celica is not fast, most cars ya buy that are under $30,000 aren't that fast. The 300whp is just a goal I would like to hit one of these days.
Anyways thanks for the constructive crit.

Even if you put that much power down you still will not run tens. You are better off getting a older M3/Mustang GT/Camaro SS for probably the same price as what it would cost you to trick out the Celica.
And you know what the best part of this is? You would have residuals in 2 automobiles instead of investing a ton of money into a Celica, which is money you would never get back.

1. You chose the wrong car
2. You already said you dont really have money so unless you dont have any responsibilities, do not spend your money on making this car "FAST"
At least this is what i think
