I may purchase a set of SSR Competitions (17x7.5 35mm offset) from a friend of mine but I am concerned about the tires he has on them. He is running 205/40-17, which seems way too low profile for my lowered GTS. I would much rather run 215/40-17, but I don't have much of a choice if I buy his rims. Does anyone here have experience running 205/40-17 on our cars? Specifically, how well is this tire going to handle under bumpy conditions or hard cornering? There is no point in buying his SSR Comps if the tires will cause me to scratch up the rims on the street or track. Any input is appreciated.
