View Full Version : New coilovers? Maybe KW Variant 2s?
Hey so I'm currently rolling on eibach lowering springs and my drop is 1.8 inches and 2.4 for the front and back respectively. And I'm looking at getting new coils for the summer, and I was thinking of maybe getting the KW Variant 2s. Does anyone have them and have any input? Or does anyone have other coils that they really like? Thanks.
i'd say to save up and get a more popular coilover for our celica's.
For example, the most 1 is the Tein Coilovers, i personally have Tein superstreet coilovers with adjustable height and damp, and they are extremely nice and comfortable. did not come cheap tho.
I cant get the same drop with superstreets. I can only get 1.8 and 2. I want the same drop, if not a bigger one.

I second that KW > Tein, hopefully you don't get the same fitament issues as some other members have had on the forum however i've ridden in both and can honestly say the Ride is much better in the KW2's and IMHO KW's are made out of better material and valved much better. Popular Coilover doesn't = Better coilover all the time it ususally means it's the best price coilover for the performance or it's the most popular name which Tein is but if your willing to pay the ~1600 for the KW's get the KW's I would.

Kw Variant 2 is very good.
Very popular in Europe.
Got them under my car on the lowest setting.

got this from somewhere..
Coilovers require a lot more maintenance. The dampers will go out faster than an insert replacement and then the whole coilover has to be sent somewhere for a rebuild, make sure the company you buy from can rebuild inside the US or you'll be shipping to Japan or where ever.
Well I live in Canada... so shipping is kind of whatever for me. Yeah coils can go out. But so can springs.

springs if they are of good quality usually don't sag, if your planning on keeping the KW's for a while it would be nice if you had a local person to revalve the KW's i'm sure KW does revalve just not sure if there is one local to you or one closer in America. I heard bilstein can revalve KW... don't quote me though... but if you can i'm having my Bilstein Coilovers revalved near LA it's pretty cheap as well.
well im on eibach springs right now. looking for a new setup
