01 Celica GT lifter noise?

So I just bought a 2001 Celica GT like 2 months ago. Love the car to death, been doing all sorts of stuff. But the only thing thats driving me crazy is a slight tapping noise thats audible mostly during idle. I had an 03 eclipse about a year ago with a very similar noise, and my problem was the lifters... Anyone have this same noise? Any suggestions?

A slight tapping is comletely normal with these engines is and ulness it gets worse, it is nothing to worry about.

Keep in mind that the celica engines do not have hydralic lifters, so slight tapping is to be expected paticularly when cold even when new.

its okay...

i just got the newer motor swap out, i have some ticking sound, but not noticealbe while driving, or stop or whenever. its okay.

mine does the same thing too :( and it worries me but like everyone said its normal. unless it sounds like a tractor then look up how to clean your ocv.


but thats when it sounds like a VW TDI.
