The stock wheels have 39mm offset and are 6.5 inches wide.

How wide ar ethe wheels with the 42mm offset?

But, if they are under 8 inches wide, they will likely fit all right.

I thought the offset was 5x100

42mm will be fine. figure that is only 3mm different. The new wheels will put about 3/8 inch width to the inside and a 1/8 inch extra width to the outside.

oops I understand now.... BTW I have 18x7.5 wheels W/ 225/40 tires and when I turn all the way to the right or the left I hear a grind sound. Can I fix this by getting like a thin 5mm spacer like a washer between the rim and the rotor. or will this screw up something?

can you use a wheel with an iffset smaller than 39?

ProToolsKid: Yes, that would help.

My autocross tires rub like that, not a big deal really. Lok up in the wheel well, there will be a polished spot on the plastic liner (front edge of the wheel I think). that is where the tire is rubbing the plastic.

Karim: Yes, a 35mm offset would work fine too. I'd be wary of anything smaller than 35mm without a money back guaranty.

so would a 18 x 8 wheel with 225/40 tyres and a 32mm offset be likely to rub on the outside fender?
Im prob going to get a set of BBS RC wheels in that offset, but now I am a bit worried.
Anyone have these wheels or experience with this offset?

Will 18x7.5 with 45mm work on our Celica?

U69, you should know this answer!!! I have that, and yes it fits..

=)

I'm thinking of getting some spacers but I only know of H&R spacers which run like 70 bux a pair. Any other options??

U21 - This is before I had the chance to talk to you. Besides, you said they rub a little rub during U turns. And I don't want to mess with spacers.
