No one is going to want to take over the payments. He'll have better luk selling it for cash, paying off the loan entirely, then transfering the title to the buyer.

I can get a 2005 S2000 with half the miles for 15,000. I know you do not know loans work since you go to Citrus College, but two things happened here:
1. He over paid for the car. That car is worth about 8,000 on trade and maybe at best 10,000 for sale on the private market.
2. Finally he is getting ****ed on interest if he got approved when he was 20. I am sure he is paying close to 10 percent interest. Why the hell would I take over payments with such a high interest rate? I would be in a better position to go get my own financing and it would look better when I paid off the loan.
So unless he knocks his price down to 10,000 he is ****ed. This is why you do not over leverage yourself on stupid high insured automobiles when you are young. What a dumbass.
