Its a 04 gts with 91xxx miles with a clean carfax and a few minor mods.
my celica is a 02 gt with 94xxx miles. do you think its worth the trade?

The GTS will have higher insurance, high fuel cost and finally when I drove both (plenty of times) I felt that unless you had the need for "lift" or racing there was very little difference.
In my opinion if I was going for a coupe I would either get a used 2006 Civic Si for 13,000 or a 05 RSX Type S for around 11,000. Way better cars in my opinion.
By the way your car is worth about 5,000 to 6,000 on a good clean trade. 6,000 if you are good. Your car on the private market would not sell for more than 7,500.
That GT-S on the other hand could probably sell for about 8,000 at least.

if you really want it then go for it. there's a lot of pros to a 04 gts over a 02 gt, but you will pay a bit more like roaf said for insurance and premium gas as well. not a bad find at all though, looks good from the pics.

I would upgrade to something else besides Celica. But '04 GTS over '02 GT sounds good to me.

I agree with roaf. I do believe that is one of the lower prices for an 03+ GTS with under 100k. Asking price for an 03+ GTS under a100k in my area are still 11k and up . trust me, Gootz311 has been looking for good deal on an 03+ GTS for quite a while after he got his engine fix in his current GTS.
If I were going to "upgrade" I would definitely go with something better than another torqueless, FWD 4 banger.

A GT to a GTS is not an upgrade.

to some ppl, it is an upgrade... rather then doing a engine>tranny swap. sometime its better to just buy a GTS.

I agree. Why go through all the trouble for a bit more horsepower. The ONLY way i would concider the so called "upgrade" is if i found a NEWER one with LOWER mileage and i don't have to pay a dime to trade up.. besides that, rock the gt til the wheels fall off and in the process save up for a REAL upgrade..

You are right. But if you are planning on selling one car to buy another of the same model with just a few extra features it is by FAR a bigger waste of money than just upgrading to a different car altogether. The GT and GTS are not different enough to justify another car loan just to swap up.
A GT to a GTS is not an upgrade.
how not? GTS's had leather, premuim sound, bigger wheels, more power, more supply of mods. But in some way you are correct, if i was to " upgrade " from my celica, it would be to a 370 or an evo, that's a Real upgrade IMO

No matter how you cut it, the differences in the two models are just not that great. Compare an LX accord with the EX version, there is a crapton more options available. And premium sound? It's still a decade freaking old stereo system! I could go to best buy with $200 and top that.
Bigger wheels are just options, if you are that dead set on them, go buy any non-base model car today.
The power is only in lift, which is a 40hp difference only in the highest part of the powerband. Unless you are getting an econo-car, it will not be hard finding a superior car with more than just a 40 hp difference from the GT.
Supply of mods? There aren't THAT many differences in whats available. 90% of the mods can be fitted to both cars without much trouble.
I'm not saying your stupid for getting a celica, I'm saying your stupid for getting another one. What do you want out of your car that the GT doesn't have but the GTS does? I guarantee you can find something better for the same price.
