I need some help. I am thinking about upgrading my deck from a pioneer p8200r to the p940mp. The problem is that the 940mp has 6V preouts and the PPI amps that I have require that you push in the -12Db ATT button with anything over 4V. Now I know that this will reduce the amount of line noise resulting in a better sound, but I am afaid that I will lose some volume that I will not be able to get back by adjusting the gains on the amplifiers. I am just wondering what you would do, or what you think.
Thanks for the help.

you need to understand, by doubling the voltage in, you cut the needed amplification in half. thats why you have to do that. it will sound better and still get plenty loud.

the 940 kicks the 840's ass, by the way. 13 band eq, auto eq using a microphone, bigger lcd screen, higher volt outs

You buy now! I love my Pioneer 9300 but the Premier 940 is even better if just by pre-out voltage.

does the 840/8400 do time alignment? because you won't believe how awesome it is. it makes a HUGE difference in the sound stage.
