what's the name of that bar? Who makes them and where can I get one? I noticed a few member's have them, but I don't see it in the parts database.

Do you know what it's called or can you give me a link? I've looked on ebay, the only thing I see that I think might be it is called a "c-pillar bar" but it says it bolts to the rear seat belt mounting points, so that's obviously not it.

does that brace do anything? it doesn't look like it braces anything that would make a difference, especially if you have plastic trim between the brace and the chassis.

is that what it is? The ebay ad says it connects to the rear seat belt brackets, so it would go behind the passenger's heads, I imagine that would probably kill someone in the back seat if you were ever in an accident. But it looks the same as this trunk bar. says it's adjustable 42-44" so maybe I'll just break out the tape measure.

well, the length of the trunk bar would need to be approximately 39-40", but then when I measured the distance from the seat belt brackets, it was about the same, so maybe the specs on ebay are wrong and that "c-pillar" bar is what I am looking for?

that bar does nothing! i had one and it was more of a PIA when putting things in the trunk or taking them out. yes its the c-pillar bar. but not worth the money IMO.

looks like they took the Egay C pillar bar and just mounted it in that location. looks stupid and its not functional. i wouldnt waste the money on a useless mod like this!!!

but hey to each his own.

does that brace do anything?
No.

C-one makes a bar that goes across the spare tire port, which does actually stiffen the rear somewhat. I found it neutralized most of the understeer a front strutbar dials in.

I will be getting a TRD 3-point rear also, I was thinking of mounting my amp behind the strut bar, and building a sub box to fit underneath this other bar.

I did this, building a box for a shallow pioneer sub. The box came up to the bottom of the trunk sun shade and had a cut out that fit nicely over the rear crossmember to help hold it in place. plus mounting it on the cross member helps to reduce trunk raddle and improve bass because when the sub slams the bass travels throught the frame not just the box. Sounds phenominal!!
