Ok this is not for my celica but for my gf's 91 Civic HB but I'm sure it can't be that much different.

We recently installed a generic CAI, since installing it the gas mileage seems to have dropped off from like 31mpg to like 24-25. Now naturally my arguement is that she's been driving it at higher rpm's to hear the intake like I did when I got mine. But for the last few days I've been driving it while my Celica is getting kit installed and I notice the mileage to be lower as well. Anyone have any ideas on why trhis could be? Could it be the enclosed cone filter sucks really bad? (Tho I can't see how it could be worse than the really restrictive stock box) Any other ideas?

Next...

Rotors, how can one tell if they are warped? (Beyond the obvious shimming when you step on them) and what are the other reprecussions of a stupid previous owner over torquing the lug nuts? (I had to snipe a ratchet and busted it on the 9th lug nut)

Thanks

yes CAI's will decrease your fuel effeciency....when the MAF sees more air, it sends in more fuel to keep the ratios correct

shimming is probably the easiest way to tell....how new are they? you can get them cut and that will straighten them out, but they might eventually bend back....on my talon it was like come and go.

Hmm you think the mileage would decrease by that much? That surprises me.

The rotors look pretty new, not thin by any means and no big lip around the edge. So having them turned would straighten them out??

you are probably running too rich. if you got an mafs in your intake and the diameter is different then your ecu is wondering what the heck is going on? if you dont have a sensor then I dont know.
