My center console lights wont come on

I was tapping my cigarette lighter light and it worked fine. I went to start the car and turn my lights on and i noticed they didnt come on.

Heres what ive done so far:
- checked the fuse = its fine
- checked the bulbs = they're fine
- checked all the plugs (behind the gauge cluster and in the dash) = they're fine

im not sure what it could be... any advice would be appreciated, its the 4 bulbs, 1 in the shifter, 1 in the cig lighter, and 2 behind the ac controls.

not sure what it is but i had a similar problem, after getting my push button starter installed the lights on the buttons of my stereo quit lighting up, i just told my dealer about it and they ordered me a new stereo. i would take it to the dealer and see what what they say.

did u check the bulbs themselves

i checked the bulbs themselves they are fine (part of my checklist in the original post ;) )

not the dimmer knob... becus its fully on and my gauge lights are full brightness

oops didn't catch that my bad. do u have a multimeter/voltmeter? check to see if there's a current goin to the bulbs at all...

i used a test light and got no voltage from the cig light bulb... this happened before awhile back and it was cus the plugs behind my gauges werent pushed in all the way, i checked those so i know it wasnt that this time

What were you tapping into your lighter? If you take off the tap will they come back on? Try it.

tried that also, tap didnt affect it
