I know this is a newbie question, but im looking at 18 inch Motegi MR7's 7.5 inches wide, 40 MM offset. I hear of people using 225's on their lowered celicas, and i just wanted to know if they rubbed bad. I have a GT that has the TRD struts and springs. Im afraid that it will rub really bad, but i want to get the biggest footprint possible, and 225 is the max from what it sounds like.
Please help me out, i really want to get these tires but i dont want to end up with bad rubbing troubles.
Thanks
Jay

Yes, 225's will fit nicely under the celi. I have 215 myself, but I know plenty of people with 225's. Shouldn't have any trouble at all.

I have 18x8 ADR wheels with 215/35/18 Yokohama tires. When I get tires again I am going to get 225/35.

Both the Hotchkis Celica and the Celebrity ones have 225/45-17s I am trying to decide wether or not to go this route as well. I don't think it will fir unless your wheels are 17x8.

225's will fit on a 7.5" wheel, just as Jotan said.

heck, 225's will even fit on a 6.5" wheel...I run 225/45R15 for autox on a 6.5 wheel. I've even seen 225's jammed onto 6" rims.

7.5" is probably perfect for 225.

i have 18x7.5 with a+30 offset with some 215/40/18 yokohama parad's spec2 and they are great plenty of room to spare.

if you want a big footprint , this means that you want a bigger contact patch on the orad , right. well with a 18x7.5 or 18x8 you can put a 225 or a 235 but since the celicas are sleek look you want to maintain the sleek look so this is why i went with the 215 with 18x7.5. i am glad i got the 215 because the 225 looks a bit big on 18x7.5 rims.
