Hi, I have a very general question regarding the mechanism of exhausts. I checked howstuffworks.com and all that but specifically, I was wondering why my aftermarket exhaust is actually louder after I step off the throttle. Like I would start off on first gear and hit the throttle vrooooomm, then if I step off abruptly it will have this louder air gushing exhaust noise.

I have an ANSA Silverline exhaust if that means anything

Stock has a bigger muffler...by the way that the pipe exits the muffler, it probably has some kind of resonator built in and disperses the sound waves. Aftermarket exhausts are usually more straight through with a small muffler.

^ That

Aftermarket exhausts have less noise reduction and a ton less time spent tuning the exhaust sound.
