i changed the rotors and pads and bled the brakes and now my brake pedal is very soft and doesnt stop as well. is there a certain way to beed it that i didnt. i did the rr, lr fr, and rr , which i think is the right order. i search and saw something about bench bleeding, what is that? any help would be great

did you keep the brake fluid filled during bleeding? maybe bleed it a couple more times. have you done this before?

soft pedal most likely means air in the lines. air compresses easily. brake fluid doesn't compress easily. so when there is air in the system, the pedal feels spongy. fix it before you get on the road. you don't want to not stop in time and rear end people.

start the car up and pump the brakes a few times if they still feel soft and spongy bleed the brakes again. start with the wheel furthest from the driver. RR LR RF then LF.

how did you bleed the brakes? you did them in the right order. did you have someone on the brake pedal keeping pressure on the line while you cracked open the bleeder screw then closed it. then had them pump again. then hold, crack, close, repeated?

and why are you bleeding your brakes anyway? all you did was change pads and rotors. shouldn't have had the lines off.

He could have gravity bleed them or used a vacuum pump.

used a vacuum pump.

^^^ this if you have a vacuum pump. if you don't.... invest.
