Dang it. They are talking SPRING of 03 now. I should just get my deposit back. Also, they are talking about putting a Airtrek engine in it from the Lancer Cedia Turbo in Japan. This means it can crank out around 250HP with the turbo, but that's it, mods will push it a LITTLE further, but you will never see 300+HP and you cannot put on larger turbos without seriously hurting the engine. Rumor is it's going to be just like the current WRX. But anyway.... I can't wait that long for a new car. Plus considering the EVO has a harsh ride and I need a car to get me from Chicago to Toronto Canada now and then - I may just get a Celica.

I've scheduled a test drive for an '03 (said I wouldn't buy one unless the fuel cutoff was fixed, and it's supposed to be fixed) as soon as they arrive on the lot. Of course I'll be getting the GTS 6-speed fully loaded, that leaves me lotsa extra money left over from the EVO VIII I was going to buy.

whatever badge mitsubishi puts on there, that **** won't be an EVO to me. just call it a Cedia Turbo. so people know they're too stupid to bring over the real thing.

It wont be coming with the locking differentials either from what I know.

I am losing interest little by litle in the EVO, I was so excited about a real super car like that coming to the USA, I even got a domain name for the release http://www.evo8usa.com

But seens like every new rumor indicates we will be getting a foo foo version of the fabled EVO. Let keep our fingers crossed maybe they will suprise us somehow.
