So yesterday I got my Blitz kit from ImportFan.com in. I took it out of the box (extremely carefully) and looked everything over. Everything looked fine, and yes the kit was rough in a couple places (sanding should take care of it). But there was a problem. On the top of the bumper, very close to where the headlights should be, I found 2 hairline cracks on one side and one on another. This only occurred on the front bumper though. The rear is fine, and I am assuming the sides are fine as well (I still have those in the packaging, they are wrapped in layer after layer of bubble wrap). Anyways, these cracks are maybe 3/4" long at the most and not even halfway through the bumper. These can be repaired correct? Or am I wrong?

Same thing happened with my blitz front. Had a couple of cracks in it when i got it. The guy that painted my bodykit and installed it just filled in the areas with fiberglass and made it look outstanding. When you bring it to the shop, just show him and see what he says. Most likely he can fix it, but it might cost a little extra.

heh.. some old guy parked his car in front of mine and hit my front bumper.. (it woke me up while i was asleep inside the car).. fiberglass is tougher than i had expected..the way i see it.. going like 15 miles per hour and hitting something.. would crack fiberglass but not urethane... going way fast and hitting something would crack either one.. so.. who in here is careless enough to run into something going 15 miles per hour??
hehe... i have full fiberglass.. but ideally.. i'd want front urethane and rest fiberglass... fiberglass is lighter.. and if someone rear ends me.. they're gonna buy me a new bumper.. not me... my .o2

But back to the point, will my kit be OK if I get a body shop to repair the cracks? Or will this be a recurring problem? By the way, I don't plan on lowering anytime soon, at least until I get some bigger rims, so having it scrape or collide with something is not the issue. I am wondering if I get these small cracks repaired if it will come back....someone help.

no the small cracks should'nt come back, you should have nothing to worry about unless you hit something then the flex in the kit might make it crack again..but if your carefull you will be ok....

Thanks for the assurance again Shawn. I was just making sure since I re-read your pm to me and you said scratches and knicks, nothing about cracks. I am new to this whole body kit thing and wanted to make sure the cracks wouldn't come back. I don't plan on hitting anything, so there shouldn't be a problem. :)
