I'm still looking for a good shift knob to replace my worn stock one, but the TRD ball knob was to small for me and i didn't like how it left part of the shifter exposed. I'm looking for something that will fit just like the stock one and about the same size, a TRD duracon is next on my list so I would appreciate some pics of them installed so I can check on the fit. Any other pics of clean looking shift knobs, similar to the stock one in shape, would be welcome.

i have the duracon shift knob and i really like it. i would say it's even thinner than the stock ones, but the knob has that shoulder under it, so feels like your gripping on to the shifter rod itself instead of a ball on top of rod (if that make any sense).

i don't have pics right now, but here's a trick with that knob. the silver plastic piece that holds the boot near the knob can be inverted. the other side of it is tapered and magically fits inside the shoulder at the base of the duracon knob when you screw it down, like it was meant to do that. so there is no part of the shifter rod exposed.

i'll try to get pics tomorrow

^ Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

Would you mind measuring or at least guessing the diameter of the ball part of the knob? I don't want to end up with another knob that is too small for my hand.

this link has a good description and measurements too
my hand fits ALL the way around it, it is not meant to be a big roundy object. like i said, it feels like i'm grabbing right on the rod practically.
it may even be the same size as the leather round one, but feels totally different

^Thanks, I'd still like to see a more up close installed pic but that helped. That link to the dimensions was great too.

I'm thinking this ebay one is a fake, can anyone confirm?

It looks like it has a single logo instead of three and uses spacers while I believe the real one is threaded, correct?

^ Looks nice, but I already bought a duracon knob from a guy on a lexus forum. I'll update when it arrives.

the best looking shift-knob IMO is the matrix shift knob, same as the 1 03gtstrd has.

here's a few pics of the duracon, as you can see it's not a large thing
i took the silver plastic piece that holds the boot and inverted it so it tapers inside the botom of the knob (covered by the boot). but i have the trd shortshifter which has that plastic piece on the rod, so the silver piece is held between that and the knob
