cel after bottom end replaced

ok...
car is finally put back together(still at the dealership)...i took it out for a quick test drive to make sure everything is ok before i take it home...i started it up..so quiet and nice...like i just bought it...anyways i drive it hard to make sure everything is working right(around 10minutes), plenty of power, lift works right but during the test drive...the car drives fine but my cel came on? wtf!!
the only thing i can think of is my intake hasn't been cleaned since i placed it in a year or so ago or could it be the idle control valve they replaced? dealer looked at it and got the code, it dealt with the vvtli system...they reset the ecu and took it for another test drive and the light didn't come on?! what could be wrong? should i be worried? any advice?

Take it back to check what code it is.Sometimes something is left disconnected by accident,or vacuum lines crossed.In any case its back to the dealer for u.

i never took the car...its still at the dealership...they don't want to tear down the engine again and fine nothing wrong since they would be eating the cost...they told me that if the light comes back on they would certainly do that but believe that it might be a isolated cel...hoping for the best...at least my car is back together...thanks for the suggestions...any more help out there?!

Which code did they pull out of ECU?Did they tell you?No need to take the engine apart,they have to diagnose the CEL first.Try to find out what code it was.Good luck

don't know what code it is....didn't get that information but they did mention it has something to do with the vvtli system, drove the car home today but braking it in again to see if that will help smooth out the engine...dealership has 1 yr. unlimited mile warranty on their work so....just hoping the cel won't turn on...but i haven't hit lift yet.....car drives great btw!

i just wanted to point out something, you said that you originally drove it and after testing vvtli and driving it around the light came on. and the dealer found the code to be related to vvtli. Then if the dealer reset the ECU and drove it, did they also take the car into vvtli or did they just drive it around? If they didnt take the car in vvtli it may not set off the code since thats where the problem is. im not saying that they didnt but if what i said is right, that could explain why the lights not coming on, meaning its not an isolated problem.

not sure whether they hit lift or not during their test drive but when i got the car back after they reset the ecu....i drove it to work which is about 20 miles and on my way home from work around 5 miles the cel came on and i didn't hit lift since i picked up the car....i just want it to work in one piece but if it gives my probs i will most likely trade it in for a IS300....

latest update...don't know what error code they got from the ecu but they had to replace a vvti valve...since then i picked up the car and it drives great!! only one time i noticed my rpm would rev up to 2-3gs...while i'm sitting still...it did it for 20 minutes but haven't done it since...so far so good...boy do i miss the car!!! i'm so happy now its like i just bought it!! woohoo!! thanks for all the help guys!!! =)
