Hey guys my younger brother is looking to get a tc or a civic, what are your thoughts on those two cars? I've never driven either so I don't know what to tell him. Just want some suggestions or thoughts. Thanks

The tC is a bloated lethargic pile of scrap.

The Tc head can handle boost really well. Then again civics are notorious for high cheap hp numbers.
It all depends on what he wants.
Civic is a 1.8L
TC is a 2.2L
Apples to oranges. Test drive both and see what he likes more.

Civic up to 2005 < Scion tC < 2006+ Civic
Civic is ultimate ricer car while tC is ultimate chick car (that was a joke).
Test drive them both and see which one you like better.

TC is a 2.4LYes.
If it's a current generation Civic I'd take it over a tC.

If his planning on getting a civic, might as well get the new Si. Other than that, I'd go with the TC.

the si is nice, though i dont like either of them that much. one thing i can say for the new model civic is that its safe. my best friend and 4 other friends rolled a coupe and all of them walked away.

what are you talking about the new civics are 2.0L...K20 is the engine.....
depends on the Civic
the SI will blow the tC out of the water.

The residual on a Civic is better for the following reasons:
1. Lower insurance rates vs tC (unless you are getting the Si)
2. Better Fuel Economy (unless you are getting the Si)
3. Better quality.

My brother just picked up a 2007 tC in white on Monday. It's the only color I'd buy one in. It's a nice little car...

It's a celica that gets worse gas mileage. I would take a gt over one ANYDAY.
