GT is Slower, Rear Drum Brakes, Smaller Rims

GTS is Slow, Calipers on All 4's, GTS rims

Welcome to the boards. If the car has rear drums it is indeed the GT model. The other tell tale sign is the intake manifold on the engine. If it's plastic it's the GT, if it's metal it's the GT-S.

The GT has the 140 hp engine, GT-S has 40 more horses and depending on year 800-1350 extra rpms to play with.

There is also a badge on the back that says GT or GT-S =D

But sounds like you have a GT from the rear brakes.

The only exterior difference on the GT and GTS to my knowledge is the rims and rear brakes. Everything else is inside the car. (VVTLI Engine, 6 speed tranny if its a MT, side air bags, silver pedals, leather stitched steering wheel etc)

Welcome to the forums!
