My car has a hard time starting, it turns for a while sometimes and eventually starts but sluggishly. The real problem is when i go get gas. When my tank is low and I fill it up, I start up the engine, it revs up and then dies right away. When my tank is almost full, and I fill it up, I start up the engine, it revs up and eventually dies..takes longer..and sometimes it stays on. I've been having this problem for about 3 weeks now. Any ideas would greatly be appreciated. I'm taking the car into Toyo to check it out, and since my warranty is up, I'm sure that I'll end up paying big bucks to get whatever it is fixed. Hopefully you can get back to me on this asap!! Thanks for the help. If anyone else knows the problem to this, please let me know at Eugic92@earthlink.net Thanks in advance!

Do you have an aftermarket intake? If so, did you instal it 3 weeks ago?

sounds almost like a mild mis-shift

I am using 91 Octane, and yea the possibility of water being in there is troubling...no aftermarket intake is installed. Any other suggestions guys? Thanks

I still suspect the evaporative emissions system (charcoal canister).

Your symptoms sound a lot like the problems the folks that improperly install their CAI's report.

make sure your gas cap is not cracked

An aftermarket intake will do that? I have sluggish starts with a CAI? Is that what is doing it?

Yea, I don't have a CAI, and I'll be sure to check on the gas cap. Thanks for the advice everyone.

it could be the idle control valve? it might be worth looking into since when my car was getting fixed...the car would not idle correctly and i would have to gas it to keep it from shutting down, they replaced that and the car is running great now...
