Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I have joined the celica group :). About a week ago I picked up a 2000 GT-S for 9 grand. Had 29,000 Miles on it. The lady who owned it previously decided to trade it in for a new BMW. I will get some pictures up as soon as I can. :wiggle:

Yeah, it's a 6 speed. I wouldn't buy an automatic :eek: haha. Pictures will arrive as soon as the weather permits me to wash the car. Massachusetts weather and the salty roads are killing me :(. It was at a small dealership, family owned so we got it for a good price.

Yeah I've actually looked around for a few days, just haven't had the time to join. The site looks semi-neat from what I can see, with a few funny stories tossed around (something about someone cleaning lights with brake fluid?).

Yeah the pictures will come, but I'd like to be able to wash the car and keep it clean for a few days without snow or salt all over the place :(

There are a lot of plans for the car, now whether I will have the money for them is a different question. I would like to complete the i/h/e setup (which will take more research in itself) and get rid of that horrid antenna but for now just taking it slowly and learning the car bit by bit.

^ lol yea i hate the lightning rod, get the s2k antenna on ebay..make sure its the early year s2k so it fits.. PPE headers FTW! and i/e is all on preference

Yeah I've heard of the PPE headers so that was a given. The c/d player is horrible as well but I won't complain seeing as I paid so little for the car in the first place haha.

Yeah but it's nothing that won't be replaced sooner or later. I have 2 mtx 12' subs sitting in my room that have been there for about a year and a half still in the box as well.

CRBCelica, actually in the boredom of today, I went ahead and tried Jason Bly's install guide for the butterfly valve. Although I had nothing to plug up the tube with *I believe he used a screw*, I did take pictures for those who were not exactly car knowledgable and/or still learning. You can check it out for proofseeing the pictures to see if I labeled them correctly to the OP's post.

Good find, sounds similar to my purchase. I got a 00 gt-s from an older lady with 13,800 miles for 8 grand. Lets see some pics!

Just save up. Although celica's look very nice with all the glamor, performance is what you should be looking for. Like I said, your car is practically brand new, your engine hasn't even been broken in yet. This site has allot of useful information so take a look around and read around. What you should do is make a plan list of everything you want to do with your celica and set those goals, just my preference though. Set money aside every time you get a chance and just build your car bank account until you have enough to buy at least some of the things from your wish list instead of doing it one at a time.

Yeah I noticed the first time I drove it the shift gates are extremely narrow but im yet to really beat on it so, I will get used to it before I do.

Welcome to the forums, and a 2000 with less then 30,000 miles has to be a record of some sort... Great find man, I thought my 2000 was mint when I bought it with 116,000 km (roughly 70,000 miles).

My 00 had 13,800 when I bought it back in March, I think I win.

Car looks good. Get an s2000 antenna, cheapest, best mod you can do.
