what do you guys thing about doing an 8w0 in a fiberglass box hidden in the passenger footwell. it will be carpeted in black carpet to match stock and the sub will have a metal grill then have black speaker grill cloth over it so that hopefully you can't tell its there (depending on how much room it actually takes up). this would be a nice setup to get some bass up front.

Where in the footwell? I think it would be pretty cool to mold an enclosure into the area behind the glovebox with the sub firing down. Or if there isn't enough room, cut out part of the glovebox but leave the front part so the sub is still hidden.

Oh, I just thought of something else too :). What about molding an enclosure directly under your headunit with the sub firing sideways into the passenger footwell? Not sure if there is enough room to do that with an 8 though.

well the glovebox one, it would probably vibrate stuff in the dash, not to mention probably not enough room for an 8. thats too much ruining of the glove box for something that may not work out too well, so thats no good. there's not a lot of room behind the head unit either, not to mention the nightmare of trying to mold back there. i was going to just make a fiberglass enclosure up to the bottom of the back of the dash, and go in all the corners trying to get as much airspace as possible, then put a wood front on it. then carpet it like factory. i want it stealth but when i was looking at it that'd be very hard to hide, just not much room.

if i wanted to do this right and go all out i'd cut a hole into the floor, do it that way, and have it stick like 1" above normal and just put the factory carpet back over it. that'd be real nice, but i'm not doing something that crazy.

well i can look at it a lot more in depth this weekend to see what can be done, i think this could be really nice if there was enough room.

there is some space, but doubt it would work with an 8.....

an 8 would be tight but it can be done. if you look up into the dash from the floor there really isn't anything there so you could build the enclosure so that part of it goes into the dash to get your sel more airspace. i take it you will be taking out the kick panel so you have more room to work with?

another option is to invert the sub. so the basket faces out rather than the cone. by doing this you could make the box a little smaller. only bad thing about that option is you lose foot room for the passenger.

also kicker makes a 6.5 mid bass sub. its their resolution series speakers, you could buy one of them and use that instead of an 8 would make things easier for the install plus you could run a smaller amp and save yourself a little money

just a couple options to think about...good luck and let us know what you decide to do. post pics when finished
