would you consider cleaning them both and seeing if they make any difference before deciding to purchase new ones?

what would you suggest to clean them in?

The diesel is actually for the filters. To test the ocv you apply power and ground to the connector pins and see if the plunger moves in or out. This is with the ocv out of the engine.

If your lift seems weak I'd probably try cleaning the MAF sensor though. Lift is either on or off, there's no intermediate so if it's engaging at all it is doing so properly and you may have other problems.
