I Ordered my HIDs from Autolamps-online yesterday and they should arrive here on friday--in time for the weekend install. I did a lot of looking around and considered the group buy, but the autolamps people were very knowledgeable and very, very helpful. They promised me that my retaining clips and everything would work just fine with their kit. I don't even have to upgrade my fuses since the ballasts draw their power from the battery and use your stock switch to power a relay.
I'll let you guys know how it turns out once I get them installed. For those of you who have them already, did the light on the road just get brighter, or do you notice that you can see further and the sides of the road are more illuminated? I haven't been ale to find too many pictures taken from the driver's seat to compare. I am thinking that the sharp cut-offs of our projector (elipsoid) beams, make them better candidates for converting halogen to HID (versus multi-reflector systems).

i got mine from auto lamps too. they are the best. i'm gonna upgrade my bulb to 6000k. very easy intall, but i did have to remove the light assembly to make installing easier. very good quality. it is well worth it to pay a little more. no chance of frying you ecu as you run new wires to the battery to run the ballast/controller.
they are very white, unlessy ou get the 6000k blue ones.

I ended up paying $499 total. That's including the 2-day UPS International Shipping. They include the shipping in the price, so it's hard to say exactly how much that part was.
I can't wait to get these things tomorrow.

6000k's aren't going to be blue. They will have a purple tint to them. Try 5000-5100k for Blue light.

Can either of you who got the autolamps online kit post pics of the light beam pattern from you driver's persepective, as well as a shot of the light shining on a wall about 10 feet in front of you? Thanks!

Please, when you get them installed post pics. I love the look of Celica's with HID's.

I installed my HID's this afternoon. I couldn't wait to leave work to get started. It's rainy season here in SoFla so I was happy to get it all done before the afternoon storms hit. I took 'em out on the street tonight and I'm impressed.
The Autolamp kit worked like a charm. Even with removing the headlights, I was done in about 90 minutes. The beam pattern is wide and diffuse with fewer of the hot spots and shadows associated with the halogens. Those little "sign halos or UFO Circles" appear on the right side of the beam at just about stop sign height. Everything on the sides of the road and along the sidewalk seems to glow! It's actually pretty incredible.
The lights start out with a flash and then are very blue for about 2 secs. After that they become white. They have a little yellow in them right now, but from what I understand that's natural and will go away as the lights burn for a while.
I'm going to borrow a decent digital cam and try and get some pictures posted from the driver's perpsective down a dark road and in front of a wall.

The bulb fit almost perfectly. I did have to adjust the clip to hold it nice and tight, but that was no problem at all. It took 2 days for it to ship. I ordered on Wednesday and had the kit friday before 10:30 am.

It' the 4300K kit. HID's Rule!! The amount of light is something you can't really explain. Does anyone know how long it takes for the yellowing to go away? The outsides of my beam are bright white, but he center has the slightest yellow tinge to it.

I ran my headlights on day and night for about 2 months....yellow was 90% gone by then.
