The sunroof...really? really??? The crook must've been on retard sandwiches or something. I'm really sorry this happened to you man. I feel your pain because mine was broken into for a third time a couple of weeks ago lol

yeah idk what he wanted... there was a touchscreen stereo in it but it wasnt even my nicer celica, just my part out car... it was unlocked on the passenger side... i always leave that door unlocked on my partouts lol... yeah but the roof is all crunched up and he tried to take the stereo but failed and bounced so idk if someone cought him or what lol...

I think the OP did it himself to get insurance to buy him a new glass sunroof.....;)

I know someone who works for an insurance company, they see this sort of thing all the time, especially if nothing of value is stolen. If someone wanted to just vandalize the car, they would just take a bat or whatever and break out a window/ windshield or some other more easier accessable part of car.

car is my parts car, no insurance lol... and he like started to remove the stereo like the plastics were all pulled out but the stereo was still screwd in... and on my other celica that one has an aftermarket sunroof which is glass...

i looked online and i guess a lot of cars have side window alarms but nothing on the roof... so might have been his thought process? not 100% sure on this one lol...

i filed a police report on it tho just cuz idk if he would come back or somthing or do somthing to my car i actually care about but the officer was confused as much as i was... he said he may have just jumped on the roof cuz the plastic **** was all pressed down where it broke than used the door to get inside... just act of vandalism lol

I don't, my sunroof controls are attached with the light fixture I think. I also have a different sun shade on it too.

Glad to hear nothing was taken.

thats a hell of alot nicer looking than the factory one on my car. BUT i don't care for the exposed edges of the tempered glass, that makes it very easy to break...like our windows.

I'm glad you took my comments as well as you did. :gap: I was concerned after I posted it that you would get pissed, but due to time, chose to ride it out and see what happens.

Its aftermarket. You can seee the brand on the second picture. It looks quite nice, but those types do have a few drawbacks.

If they leak, your screwed. The rely soley on the seals to keep water out. OEM has drains, so even if water gets thru the rubber seal it should drain.

OEM has a clutch/ torque sensing motor that reverses automaticlly if something is blocking it. Most After market dont.

OEM is flush with the top, actually the top is made for the sunroof to fit in so it sits flush. Even the best after market ones have that black rim going around the hole they cut.

Even with that being said, that sunroof looks sharp.

lol idt i shuod have to worry too much about damages to the sunroof, has some car around it to keep it safe lol... i think this has a sensor to reverse and its also got a water sensor thats tied into the door windows so when it rains the windows and sunroof closes... this also closes 5 seconds after u shut the car off automatically unless u push a button.
