Welp, I started asking too many questions and changing my mind so many times, so the fam gave up the surprise so that I could get exactly what I want....

Oh yeah, and I got to take that with the new digicam me and the GF went and bought. 0% interest for 12 months....can't beat that!

? for all you rim people though.....

I want RH Z5000s 18s. Those are 7.5" wide. I thought 225s were the width for 7.5" rims. A lot of the places I've been calling want to throw 215s on em. Why is that?

Way to go... you lucky bastard.

Shrink the image, geese, only took me 5 minutes to load the thread.

congrats.. its 215/35/18 for the closest ratio to stock... 225 makes the car sit higher than it would stock..

well, to adress the sizing issues.

yes, 225 is the WIDEST you can fit on a 7.5 (maybe even 235), however 215 still fits just fine. the reason most places are probably trying to put 215s on them is because thats a much more generic size that tire companies make because it still fits on a 7 inch wide rim, whereas the 225 wont fit.

just tell them that 225/35/18s are exact same size as stock, whereas 215/35/18s are a little smaller. yokohama parada is the only "affordable" tire that comes in that size. im not sure on the pricing of toyo proxes fz4 or nitto nt555s, but they also come in that size.

i say get 225s, wider, and your speedo is unaffected, as its within a milimeter or so of stock rolling diameter.

EDIT: 225/35/18 are exact same diamater as my stock wheels (195/60/15) which are slightly larger than gt-s's 205/50/16.

heres a list of diamaters:
GT 195/60/15: 24.2 inches
GT-S 205/50/16: 24.1 inches
215/35/18: 23.9 inches
225/35/18: 24.2 inches

basically, 225s will be SLIGHTLY larger than stock for your car, and 215s will be SLIGHTLY smaller than stock. either way, your speedo will be very close. 225s will be wider and give you a little more profile, but 215s will probably be cheaper and easier to find in more brands.

That's what I had figured out. Stock rolling dia splits the diff......and like .2 inches larger in dia is going to make a diff on the speedo at all.

I asked on place about going 225s vs 215s with the Toyos, and they said only like $40 more for em.......that works for me. I'm hoping to have em ordered here in a couple days.
