Just wondering, cause I have to floor my clutch for it to engage/disengage. And sometimes, during quick shifts (usually from 1st to 2nd), I endup grinding the gears. Now this happens more than I care to admit, so I was wondering if there was any way I could adjust the point where the clutch catches, maybe move it up a little but, so I dont have to slam the pedal to the floor.

Not sure if mine catches as low as yours because I always put my clutch to the floor before moving the shifter no matter what car, but it does engage alot faster and lower than any other car I have driven.

Check to see if the floor mat is under the clutch. If it is, you won't be able to press the clutch all the way down.

Hmmm, good call, my floor mat does end up moving around quite a bit (and it has a big ole hole in it, so that will be going soon). But that doesnt change the fact that our clutches catch mad low. In my boss's Audi, for instance, its the exact opposite... his catches quite high. And I am not saying that I want it to engage as soon as I push down, but I would like to ajust it a little higher if thats at all possible....
.....is it possible?

mine was catching low, when i put in a new clutch and its was doing about the same thing you were saying. took it back to the dealer, and after a few fix and test runs, i got the clutch to were i can shift quickly and smoothly. so yes it can be adjust'd.

Can anyone know if this is a do it yourself type deal or do I have to have it done by toyota?

that is actually a sign of a worn clutch.....it may be adjustable, if it's not too worn...go get it checked out.

Mine engages maybe 2-4 inches above the floor. I have a 2001 GTS with 22,000 miles.

The stock clutches catch close to floor...as they wear out they catch farter out...
worst case is your syncros are worn out
