Hey guys new to the forum. I have checked numerous links out for days trying to find install pictures. Most don't work anymore. I have a 2000 GTS 6 spd. I'm in the middle of an install of the NOS Sniper Universal kit. I have installed and used nitrous before on my 5 liter rice eater, but never on fuel injection. I mounted my solenoids and soft plume fogger nozzle between my MAF sensor and TB which I'm assuming is correct so far. It looks like a return-less fuel system on my car. Do I tap in with a T-bar on the rubber fuel line behind the head and is it 5/16in hose? Do I need to drill through my trunk floor to run my nitrous feed line. If anyone has installed a NOS system and know what size jets I need for a 35, 50, and 75 shot please let me know? I run shell 93 octane religiously. Is that sufficient or do I need to mix unleaded race fuel at $8/gal? Please don't give me any sh!t on brand preference. I ordered the kit in lieu of a 101 mph speeding ticket I got and my 347 won't be done by Steel Valley Nationals. It's my way of saying ":fawk: you to the man" and having a decent ride by STV. Any useful input would be appreciated.

lol it still works, if it helps there is a Nitrous express install thread floating around. Try searching all the nitrous systems. i know there is an install with pics.

I found larryd's install pics and that answered a few of my questions. I still haven't found jet size answers or fuel octane answers yet. It's my understanding that every brand is different, but does the same stuff. I'm assuming here that I will have different jet sizes as well. If there's any NOS users out there, please help. I'm still looking, but it's the same stuff I've been looking at for days.

stock car can run up to at least 75 safely with 91 octane

Thanks man. Gettin this **** solved 1 question at a time. Is yours bottle fed?

i Thought Gt can run 75 and GTS can run 50 due to the lower compression rate?

Yep, tap into the fuel line behind the batery/head with a t-piece connector.

Try to run as high octane gas as you can, but up to a 50hp increase, you should be fine.

Do a fuel flow test before you run your car for real with the system armed - google if unsure.

Jetting ratio is generally 3:2 - nitrous:fuel for optimum performance, but this is very much brand specific and you should go by what the car is happy to run - not what jet sizes appeal to you.

Do you have a bottle warmer? The anticipated nitrous pressure will be crucial to ensure an accurate jetting (you'll also need a nitrous pressure gauge btw).

If any of this is news to you, google the answers and take your steps slowly (ie, start with a small 20hp increase, check plugs after a WOT run and then decide on your next steps) Do not think that just because you've followed all the appropriate steps that you can run 50hp jetting just because it's proven to be a safe power level.

Treat nitrous with as much care/fear/respect as you would do with a turbo kit. If you cheap out or miss out on safety tests, then you will toast the engine as quickly as a badly set up turbo motor.

Hope that helps.

P.S.: NOS is one of the worst brands/systems for nitrous out there btw.

Hey man I appreciate the good info. Unlike a few people on here, this is my second car to build. I cringe at putting performance money into the celica right now because I know it could have gone elsewhere. It's a super fun car in the turns, but it does not have the potential to throw me back in my seat gasping for air on a light to light run. As my daily driver, I just need it to get me to school, work, and drill. I have access to a dyno to tune it after the n2o install. I just wanted to establish a safe power baseline as well as the sufficient octane needed before I put her on the merry-go-round. I have never had any problems with NOS as a brand. I like Holley. That's what came on my car back in the day. I'll admit that I'm biased to them over Edelbrock. Again, thanks for all of the information. You guys were very helpful. If any of you work on or have a friend, that has a 79-86 Mustang, check out foureyedpride.com. It's another forum. I'm going to send some of their Celi guys here as well. I know they have some. Good luck to you guys on your builds. Any people in north east ohio going to Steel Valley Nationals- send me an email and maybe we could cruise together nickolas.sego@yahoo.com.

Use a jetting calculator before you blow something up,

84' 302 HO. WC T-5, ported 351 heads A/C & Smog pump delete, underdrive pulleys, comp extreme energy cam, lifters and springs(matched), Weiand high rise manifold, hooker long tube headers, off-road h-pipe, glass packs, Nitto NT555r extreme drag radials & pizza cutters up front, lift off fiberglass cowl hood, back seat delete(other simple and intermediate weight reductions) 3.73 gears 8.8 rear. I'm in the middle of my roots type s/c 347 build, but I got a 101 mph speeding ticket in the celica which took away my block work funds. The cop pursued me for 5.5 miles before I knew I was being pursued. He said he shut his radar off at 101. If he was sitting a little farther up the road, he would have had me at 140. I bought a nitrous kit the next day with the money I had left from the $250+ ticket. Damn. I'm off topic now. P.M. me if you want to know more.

Has anyone used the tuning technique of pulling a WOT N2O pass, killing their ignition, then reading their plugs? I just put a lot of money into a pressure gauge plugs and race fuel so I'm running a little short for some dyno pulls right now. If you have done it or personally know someone who has, please reply; if not, don't post. I have not used this technique before, but I know how to read plugs.

an aftermarket fuel rail like mine make the install much easier, you dont need to tap the feed line.

Yes absolutely.

You do it all exactly as you said. Do a WOT pass somewhere safe and then kill the ignition. Coast to a stop and then read the plugs and use your knowledge on plug reading to make a decision.

FYI make sure you're in a really safe area and only turn the key by one small click, so that you don't arm the steering lock and if you suddenly need to turn the wheel it jams and it could lead to a crash.

Be careful bro and take your time. You'll get there :)

The NOS Sniper kit is installed and working great. I pulled a few WOT passes and killed the ignition to check my plugs. They looked like the normally do in N/A trim. I did go two steps bigger on my fuel side just to be safe. I have a few pics from a sh!tty mobile phone in my gallery. I am currently running .036 N2O and .026 fuel jets. I am looking for .040 N2O jets right now.

I spent $315 on the kit, roughly $75 on longer 4AN lines and connectors, and $50 on a pressure gauge. I'm not using a Mallory ignition switch or a bottle heater. I pull my bottle before I plan on going on a nitrous run and soak it in warm water for about 5-10 minutes. I recommend this over using a torch. I would also recommend this kit to anyone on a tighter budget. It's a solid buy IMO. The part number is 07005NOS.

I have noticed that the nitrous install threads are out there, but most lack working pictures (larryd's aside) due to age. I plan on taking some pictures and explaining how I installed it sometime here in the near future.

In the meantime, if anyone purchases this kit and has questions on how to install or what extra parts they need, PM me. I will be more than happy to help.

Good news there, sir :)

Gald to hear you got there in the end.

Hopefully this weekend, I'll post up some pics of my system also and maybe a vid if I get time :)

That would be awesome! Do you have any videos up right now on youtube or streetfire?

The large car event I go to is coming up at the end of June. I will try to take as many pictures and video as I can and maybe post some time slips.

It kind of sucks knowing that I'm just getting my Celica up to par with the newer cars out there. I really wish I had the extra $1500 right now to get my Mustang out there on the track and tearing up the streets.
