whats up guys just wondering if its bad for the car..i was going on "D" today and i got stuck in that real real slow dead spot..so i decided to drop her into 2 and off i went..i was just wondering is this bad for the car? and is there a safer way to do it such as letting off on the gas before shifing etc.? thanks!

Its an Auto. Whats the point in downshifting? Its not like you can rev match or anything.

I'm sure it's not going to hurt it no matter whether you let off or leave on the gas.


cbr600drm- the point in shifting would be to get into the sweet spot of the power curve and not having to wait for the computer/trans to sense it is time to downshift.
