The purpose of this thread is to see how people like our website.
The pro's the con's everything.

The only way it's going to get better is if we bring up the issues.

I personally love the site. It's very easy to navigate and the sub-forums are divided up nicely. Something I don't like is the 60-sec wait between double searches. I'm sure there is a good explanation for it but it can be rather inconvenient at times when I double click by mistake.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

There is a solution.. be a supporting member. (join team orange!) For a subscription to the site you get a few benefits .. one of those is 30 second search time.

Positive:
You can find any information regarding the 7th gen.
Mostly mature people
Easy to sell\ buy parts
More performance research is done
New friends.

Negative: (I dont know any about the site but i do regarding celicas in general)

Celicas have become cheap enough so that pretty much any high school kid can buy one... and rice it out.. try to race with anything that moves.

& also members that ask for your advice- disregard it - create their own little fix-fvck things up-then come back and ask for a magic pill that makes their problems go away again.

+:
-The well informed people who contribute to the site.
-The overall organization.
--Very easy to search through, if you know what and where to look.
---If you don't, that's because you're dumb. :chuckles:

-:
-The increasing number of young people who think they don't need to SEARCH before asking.
-The increasing number of new members who think you cannot give your opinion on anything posted here.
--Disregarding the fact that it's a free site and the internet.
---Butthurt people should refrain from posting altogether.
-The once-in-a-while ricer.

Overall, I love this site. I'm a semi-long time member and even get to give back by helping moderate several sections.

I love the site, ive been on here long before i joined the site because my friend had a celica and we tryed to fix anything on it that would go wrong. Then i got mine and joined in on the fun.

+
-Lots of /funny people, willing to helpout and give oppions.
-easy to use site.
-LOTS of great info on here.

(-)
-again like said above, search engine 60sec wait. But thats so everyone not looking up something at once and making the site run slow. I get that.
-people not searching, (ive done this once or twice, il admit it)

The only thing I would want changed is to make it so that the forum would automatically go to your first unread post in a specific thread.
I don't even know if that is possible on a forum with as much activity as we have but I do know that a lot of other smaller forums do it.

I like it like it is. :)

IMO, if you got a good thing, don't F**k with it!

I'll post my +/- later.

One thing I would really like to have is updated maintenance threads and a cleaner thread about comparisons, such as fluids.

That and change the 60 second search.

+ Tons of good information
+ Lots of great/helpful people
+ The "For sale" section is AWESOME

- Hard to get OEM info, as this forum is geared towards modifying/ fixing after market performance issues rather than maintaining or fixing OEM performance issues.
- No OEM parts catalog in the 'parts' section. (Only after market stuff)
- Mean people who are rude if you ask a noob question or cant find something after searching. (some searches return dozens of posts or threads, who has time to read all of them all the time?)

automatically go to your first unread post in a specific thread

you can already do this, rather than clicking on the thread itself click on the new post icon next to the thread and it will automatically take you to the first new post in the thread.

The wait time when searching is quite annoying.

The wait time when searching is quite annoying

This is to ensure that the load doesn't spike on the server due to heavy search queries. If you want to reduce this become a supporter and you can cut the time in half to 30 seconds.

Pros:
-A lot of good people who are willing to help others.
-Tons of useful info and how-to guides.
-Easy to use site.

Cons:
-Some immature people.
I can't complain about the 60 second wait time between searches because I'm becoming a supporter :D

Shouldn't this be under site discussion?

I like the site. The other thing I think we could add is this auto search thing I saw on another forum. When you type the title of your new thread it automatically bring up the top 4 searches on what ever you entered. For those not capable of searching in the first place.

Great site with a lot of great people willing to share their knowledge.
Vast amount of information if youre willing to wait for the search.

Only bone to pick would be the lack of information on using the site...ie posting pics and making threads etc. (at least I didnt find it)

He didn't even bother to search on how to use an image as a sig. It's not even a sig! He just posts the same picture after every one of his posts.

All of the posting pics info is stickied in red at the top of the Newbie Section...
If you know how to use the img format, then use this for your new sig. Here's how to do it

1) click on private messages (top right corner)
2) click edit signature (top left corner)
3) copy and paste this image from my gallery into the signature text field

http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/D_Griff.jpg

4) Save signature and look at the outcome next time when you post

:) I posted this one in my gallery instead of photobucket to make it easier for you to find it.

Trust me, there is a ton of information on this site but you just need to search for it. Search for it for a good amount of time and if you are still unable to find it THENNN you can make a new thread. Most likely your question will be answered within your search though. Nice fogs btw...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pros:
Good people to deal with
Lots of info on what I can do to my celica
I only have 30 seconds to wait for a search because I BECAME A SUPPORTER

Cons:
The occassional spammer (although haven't seen one in a while)
New people who can't take criticism (it's the internet)

The site I saw it on is

yourcobalt.com

It's vbulletin version 3.8.1. If that helps at all.
