So I finally tried to set up the Greddy Ultimate and had some good experiences but an overall poor result.
Pros:
Ultimate that I bought used worked!
MWR PNP Harness fits like a glove and hooked up properly
I was able to connect to the main unit with the greddy software I found online
I was able to send maps to the main unit from my computer.
So onto the poor result. I uploaded maps all zeroed out, put the parameters to a 1zz-fe engine and left all unchanged except for injectors I put in 260 CC before and 440 CC after. I left lag times at 0. I found the lag times for the stock injectors to be .608 ms, but when I tried to type this in, it wouldn't allow me to put in a period first. It always wanted a number first, then a period and 2 more numbers. Maybe I'm using an outdated software? I believe I have v1.06b. Main Unit is v1.14
So in any case, I tried starting the car with 0 lag times and it wouldn't turn over. I tried playing around with the lag times 0.6 and 1 and around those but could still not get the engine to turn over.
Any thoughts to what else I need to do to get the car started? On another note, my stock ECU may be damaged possibly? When I moved to my new house, I probably wasn't too careful with it. I am going to try putting it in and see if it starts (although it'll be rough because the stock injectors aren't in, I'll at least be able to determine that's not the cause).

Leave stock lag at zero.
Try .45 lag for the 440's, but might need to experiment with that. Search for lag time on here for more info.
Also, get an OBDII scantool/datalogger to dial out fueltrims created by larger injectors. See tuning sticky for details...

jlitman,
Thanks for your help. I bought and have the Elm 327 bluetooth for the obd2 scannner. I'm just awaiting the bluetooth connection for my comp to pair them. Do you know if I can use that if the engine doesn't start though? I would assume not.
Any other ideas other than injectors that the engine wouldn't turn over if I leave the parameters the same for the 1zzfe engine and maps at 0? I can only come up with the injector sizes and the stock ecu being damaged.
I know the engine can start because it started ok with the Power FC (although it did struggle to not stall the first time with the power fc randomly as it started fine the day before - but that's another issue for another day).
Thanks!

Yes, you are using super outdated software. Latest one is 2.20 I believe. Check Greddy's web.

Yea, i noticed that too. I tried downloading the update file, but it wasn't successful. I'm not sure if it's because I'm on windows vista or because the program i have now needed to be updated a few more steps before the 2.2 update. I'm going to try downloading the program on my XP laptop and see if that helps. Regardless, I don't think that would make the car not start. It would just make the program I'm using to input tuning parameters outdated.

I don't know why your car won't start... but I think the EMU software doesn't work well with vista.
I'm thinking something is amiss with the wiring harness or a fuse is blown.

So it didn't update or didn't let you download it? If it isn't letting you download it pm your email and I'll email you the zip.

it downloaded, but then when i opened it and it extracted it didn't work properly. I'll PM you my email and if you could send your zip that would be excellent!

opps, btw, i meant windows 7, but i doubt it works with 7 well if it didn't work with vista. It didn't appear that the software was having any problems with communications though.
The harness is the PNP one through MWR, so I'm hoping that it was wired appropriately. I checked all the fuses when it had trouble starting with the PFC one time. Could be a loose battery cable too, so I can try that as well.
I'm going to put the stock ECU in tonight and see if it starts up. I'm going to try one thing after another to try and figure it out.
Thanks for everyone's help!!!

also i am using windows 7 64 bit, and opening windows vista 32 in a separate window to run the greddy emanage ultimate software.

i have windows 7 32 bit. How do you know if it's truely not working? It connected with no problems, communicated with the main unit and appears to write to the main unit fine. I switched the car from on/acc to off and then back again and pulled the zeroed map and parameters from the main unit and it pulled correctly (i could tell because it had my new/old injector values). Maybe it's because I am using such an old outdated software. You'd think the opposite though, the old software wouldn't work and the new would.

are you sure all your vehicle parameters are set properly? Are you using RPM or crank signal? Do you have the crank sensor set to TY-2

i'll have to check when I get home, but i left the signals to what came up for the 1zzfe engine. The only thing I changed was the injector size. I did try the stock computer and the car started up, so it's definitely something with the emanage settings. I also upgraded the software to v 2.0. I'm a bit sick at the moment, so I'm not sure if i'll get around to playing with the system again today. I can't thank everyone enough for the input though!

EMU jumper settings are correct? Especially ignition coil voltage.

you know what? I bet you're right! I can't wait to go home to see if any of the jumper settings are incorrect. I bought it used from a nissan 350Z, so my guess is they need to be changed. Are these the jumper settings you are using? I got these settings from spyderchat for a 1zzfe
Leave Jumpers JP1 - JP6 to Open so that the EMU can add and subtract fuel and not only add fuel.
Set Jumper JP7 to 1-2 for normal Ignition type.
Set Jumper JP8 to 2-3 for 12Volt system.
Set Jumper JP9 to Open for normal Airflow meter system.
Set Jumper JP10 to Open.
Jumper JP11 is for Option port 1 on the front panel. Set to Open for Pressure or A/F sensor.
Jumper JP12 is for Option port 2 on the front panel. Set to Open for Pressure or A/F sensor.
Set Jumper JP13 to 1-2 for Water temp sensor. (Setting to Open will monitor knock which if I'm not mistaken is not supported as yet)
Set Jumper JP14 to 1-2 for Intake Temp sensor. (Setting to Open will monitor knock which if I'm not mistaken is not supported as yet)
Set Jumper JP15 to 1-2 for Tach signal from ECU.
Set Jumper JP16 and JP17 to Open.
Set Jumper JP18 to Open to Add and Subtract fuel.
Set Jumper JP19 and JP20 to Open

man. Those jumper cables were pretty much all off! Switched them to the above diagram and hopefully that takes care of it all. Thanks!

well, got the car to start! Idles rough, so I'll need to play around with it a bit, but it's a step in the right direction. Thanks!
